WE USE OIL PAINTS ONLY IN THIS COURSE

My Recommendation is Gamblin 1980 Oil Colors

We use a limited palette but if you have other colors by all means, use them. Any brand/manufacturer will suffice, I prefer Gamblin as their paints are consistent and they keep a limited carbon footprint, and they are made here in the states. Painting materials and equipment are an investment and will last beyond this course. Save money where you can.

You will be wiping brushes, cleaning brushes, and these guys go a long way. Just avoid the RED RAGS at Lowes/Home Depot. The Dye will end up in your brush and on your painting, affecting your color mixing.

QTIPS & COTTON BALLS: These guys are so helpful- from the beginning stages to minor corrections and cleanups. These are available at a number of locations; Walmart, CVS, Grocery etc…

THERE ARE OPTIONS:

While I recommend buying these items from the links above, you do not have to, but know this: Michaels, Texas Art, and Hobby Lobby mark-up their inventory 40-60% and then offer you a 20%, 50% off one item coupons (which they now have stopped doing—thanks Covid). This is all smoke and mirrors. You will save money by purchasing through amazon or online retailers including local Jerrys Art-o-Rama…..but you have to drive downtown. Their costs are competitive and you are not limited on sellers.
